Job Description

Our client, a well-established company in Cape Town operating in the motor industry, is seeking a skilled Workshop Foreman to join their team. With a strong reputation for excellence and a commitment to customer satisfaction, our client offers a dynamic and supportive work environment.

Our client is looking for a dedicated Workshop Foreman to oversee their workshop operations. As a Workshop Foreman, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient functioning of the workshop and delivering high-quality service to customers.

Joining the company’s dynamic team, you will utilize your experience and expertise to lead the workshop team and ensure the smooth execution of repairs and maintenance tasks across multiple brands/franchises.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the workshop, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Assign work orders to technicians, monitoring their progress and providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Conduct quality inspections to ensure repairs meet the company’s standards and customer expectations.
  • Manage inventory and ensure the availability of required parts and supplies for repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, including detailed job cards and service reports.
  • Monitor and control workshop expenses, optimizing resource allocation and minimizing wastage.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
  • Train and mentor technicians, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Liaise with customers to address any concerns or issues, providing excellent customer service.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technological advancements to enhance workshop operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as the Service Department and Parts Department, to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency.
  • Participate in performance evaluations and provide feedback to technicians on their performance.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Workshop Foreman in the motor industry is essential.
  • Matric qualification (Grade 12) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with multiple brands/franchises is required.
  • South African citizenship is mandatory.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of workshop operations, including repairs and maintenance.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Clear criminal record (CRIM) and a good credit history (ITC).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
