Job Description

Our client, a managed IT services company, is seeking a Tier II IT Technician to join their team in Woodmead, Johannesburg. Specializing in providing comprehensive IT solutions, our client ensures optimal infrastructure functionality for their diverse range of clients.

Our client is looking for a dynamic Tier II IT Technician to provide client support and ensure optimal infrastructure functionality. As a Tier II IT Technician, you will be responsible for resolving requests and incidents, as well as implementing projects and maintaining infrastructure security.

The role requires a strong technical background, particularly in Microsoft technologies including Office 365, Microsoft 365, Azure, and Hyper-V/VMWare. The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of R30,000 per month, in addition to other benefits and allowances.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement projects according to client requirements and project scope.
  • Conduct infrastructure security analysis and reporting.
  • Create and maintain client documentation and policy design.
  • Manage incident and problem management processes, ensuring efficient resolution of service requests and applying change management protocols when necessary.
  • Assist and mentor junior consultants, hosting technical workshops for the team.
  • Provide high-level support on Windows Servers, workstations, and laptops.
  • Deliver professional and concise communication with team members and customers.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, continuously expanding technical knowledge.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional client support and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in IT support.
  • Strong technical and product knowledge, including hardware and software components.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 and Azure.
  • Good general understanding of the ITIL Framework and ITSM Systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Office 365, Microsoft 365, Azure, Hyper-V/VMWare.
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP Networking protocols, VLANs, firewalls, managed switches, and routers.
  • Understanding of network security practices and awareness of malware/ransomware prevention.
