Job Description

Our client, a luxury game lodge situated in Hoedspruit, is seeking a talented Service Manager to join their dynamic team. This renowned lodge offers a unique and exceptional hospitality experience in a breathtaking natural setting.

The luxury game lodge is looking for a skilled and experienced Service Manager to oversee the Butler and Service Team. As the Service Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the lodge’s service department. Your responsibilities will include managing and inspiring the team, planning day-to-day operations, delivering exceptional 5-star service, and creating a memorable experience for guests.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully leading a team and a deep understanding of food and beverage operations. This role offers a competitive salary of R 13,900, a 7.5% provident contribution, bed night allocation, and meals on duty (depending on experience).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Butler and Service Team, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of day-to-day service activities, maintaining high standards of service excellence.
  • Plan and coordinate service operations, including scheduling and staffing.
  • Maintain a good understanding of food and beverage operations, ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Deliver exceptional 5-star service to guests, exceeding their expectations and creating memorable experiences.
  • Foster a positive and motivating work environment, inspiring the team to perform at their best.
  • Build and maintain strong rapport with guests, anticipating their needs and ensuring their satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate a passion for the hospitality industry and the bush environment.
  • Understand and implement strategies to spoil and delight guests, leaving a lasting impression.
  • Uphold the lodge’s standards and policies, ensuring compliance and adherence to regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 (essential).
  • Not less than 3 years’ experience in a service role.
  • Not less than 3 years’ experience in managing a team.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading a team, including day-to-day operation, planning, training, and inspiring.
  • Familiarity with Point of Sale and Nebular systems.
  • Computer literate.

Our client offers a competitive salary of R 13,900 along with a 7.5% provident contribution. Additionally, bed night allocation and meals on duty (depending on experience) are provided. The starting date for this position is ASAP.
