Join our client’s esteemed law firm and contribute to their dynamic team. The law firm in Durban is looking for a Senior Associate/Junior Partner to join their Litigation team.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to take over an existing practice from a partner who is emigrating. As a Senior Associate/Junior Partner, you will provide expert legal advice, handle complex legal matters, and build strong relationships with clients. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide clear and concise legal advice on complex legal matters.
  • Act as a counsel, offering timely and effective guidance on legal issues.
  • Contact and liaise with internal and external clients, ensuring excellent communication and service.
  • Research and analyze relevant regulatory requirements, translating them into practical business solutions.
  • Draft legal opinions, affidavits, pleadings, and court documents.
  • Build and maintain business relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Oversee a paralegal and associate responsible for bank recoveries.
  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of court processes in the High and Magistrate Court.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all legal cases and activities.
  • Stay updated on changes in legislation and legal trends that may impact the firm.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • LLB Degree from a recognized institution.
  • 5-10 years of experience working as a practicing attorney in a law firm.
  • Admission as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa.

Working Conditions:

  • Own transport is essential for commuting to the office and client meetings.
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00.
