Job Description

Our client, a vibrant and exciting company in the FMCG Tobacco alternative products sector, is seeking a dedicated and sales-hungry Sales Representative with a passion for sales and excellent interpersonal skills to join their team.

They specialize in selling disposable Vape Devices and have established themselves as a trusted brand with various retail outlets throughout South Africa. The company prides itself on simplicity, value, and providing a better alternative to smoking traditional cigarettes.

As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for servicing existing accounts, establishing new accounts, and driving sales. You will play a vital role in merchandising and displaying products in a way that attracts customers and stimulates interest.

This is a remote position for candidates located in Gauteng, South Africa. The role offers a competitive monthly salary of R20,000 to R23,000, along with quarterly commission and permanent employment after a 3-month probation period.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and organize daily work schedules to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
  • Merchandise and display products in a way that stimulates interest and entices customers to make a purchase.
  • Adjust sales presentations based on the type of sales outlet or trade factor.
  • Focus sales efforts by studying existing and potential volumes of dealers.
  • Submit orders by referring to price lists and product literature.
  • Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.
  • Recommend changes in products, services, and policies by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Provide historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
  • Degree/Diploma in Sales.
  • Three to five years of industry-related experience.
  • Experience in FMCG, Forecourt & retail.
  • Experienced in Territory Management.
  • Proven sales closing skills.
  • Proficient in prospecting and cold calling.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Motivated and sales-hungry.
