Our client is looking for a dynamic Sales Manager New Vehicle Sales to join their team. As part of the company’s dynamic team, the Sales Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing all sales and promotional activities for the vehicle brand.

This role requires leadership, mentorship, and motivation to drive the Sales Team towards achieving or exceeding sales objectives. The Sales Manager will also ensure customer excellence, operational excellence, and financial excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and oversee all sales and promotional activities for the vehicle brand.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the Sales Team to achieve or exceed sales objectives.
  • Successfully meet customer acquisition and revenue growth targets.
  • Maintain a supportive relationship with customers, ensuring their needs and service requirements are met.
  • Ensure the continuous promotion of sustainable growth and profit through the development of innovative and new solutions.
  • Foster customer excellence by delivering exceptional customer experiences and addressing their needs effectively.
  • Promote people excellence by providing guidance, support, and mentorship to the Sales Team.
  • Uphold operational excellence by implementing efficient workflow processes and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s financial and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) requirements.
  • Demonstrate commitment to corporate governance, risk management, ethics, and compliance.
  • Drive financial excellence by managing budgets, monitoring financial performance, and optimizing revenue opportunities.
  • Stay updated on the legislative framework related to the motor industry.
  • Develop a broad understanding of the socio-economic and political landscape at macro and micro levels.
  • Be willing to travel as required and possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Utilize excellent negotiation skills to achieve favorable outcomes in sales transactions.
  • Cultivate relationships and networks with key stakeholders that positively impact the business, such as customers and suppliers.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in FICA (Financial Intelligence Centre Act), FAIS (Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act), and CPA (Consumer Protection Act) regulations.
  • Exhibit strong computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office, internet usage, and email communication.
  • Utilize system knowledge of Evolve, IAL, CMS, or similar Dealer Management systems to enhance sales processes.
  • Possess proficiency in both English and a local language to effectively communicate with diverse customers.
  • Comply with vaccine mandates as required based on the company’s risk assessment.
  • Maintain a clear record based on various verification checks conducted by the company.
  • Preferably be based in the East Rand or in close proximity to the dealership.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 / Matric qualification is required, while a relevant National Diploma / Degree or equivalent in Business Management is advantageous.
  • Preferred 5-10 years of experience in the motor industry, particularly at the dealership level, with knowledge of F&I offerings and extensive financial/business experience.
  • Working knowledge with the OEM at a National Level is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with the legislative framework relating to the motor industry.
  • Understanding of the socio-economic and political landscape at macro and micro levels.
  • Willingness to travel and possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with a network of key stakeholders.
