SAEWA is looking for passionate individuals to join their dynamic team as Recruiter Officials. This role offers an excellent career path, starting as a Sales Official and progressing through various levels of responsibility.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to recruit new members, serve existing members, attend employer meetings, and participate in conciliations at the CCMA. The position provides a competitive remuneration package, including commissions, bonuses, basic salary, and fringe benefits.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recruit new members for the trade union, utilizing effective sales and marketing strategies.
  • Provide excellent service to existing union members, addressing their concerns and queries.
  • Attend meetings with employers of union members to discuss labor-related matters.
  • Participate in conciliations at the CCMA and bargaining councils, representing the interests of union members.
  • Assist in disciplinary hearings and grievance procedures, ensuring members’ rights are protected.
  • Collaborate with team leaders and senior trade union officials in conducting arbitrations and wage negotiations.
  • Establish and attend branch committees and branch meetings to engage with members at the grassroots level.
  • Play an active role in wage negotiations at both company and industry levels.
  • Act as a delegate or trustee on councils, boards, or committees where the trade union’s presence is required.
  • Continuously recruit new members to expand the union’s membership base.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Matric certificate or similar qualification.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Strong sales and marketing abilities to effectively recruit new members.
  • Basic computer literacy, including the use of laptops or smartphones.
