Our client, a well-established company in the travel industry, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Product and Contracting Assistant to join their dynamic team based in the Cape Town CBD.

Our client is looking for a friendly, helpful, energetic, and driven Product and Contracting Assistant to complement their Product & Contracting Team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of the team and assist in delivering exceptional travel products and services.

As a Product and Contracting Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the team in various tasks related to contracting suppliers, rate comparisons, product queries, and administrative duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contracting suppliers that are not contracted by our Central contracting team.
  • Conducting rate comparisons to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Assisting consultants with rate and product queries.
  • Obtaining PLI documents/POPIA from various suppliers.
  • Loading rates and handling ad hoc service lines.
  • Assisting with planning educational trips.
  • Designing and quoting packages for the company’s website and newsletters when required.
  • Assisting with the company’s B2B site, including actioning queries, uploading new agents, and creating new log-ins.
  • Assisting with the setup of product training sessions for consultants.
  • Prepare agent-specific product updates.
  • Attend supplier functions after hours as and when required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.
  • Tertiary qualification in the relevant field (advantageous).
  • Previous consulting experience is an advantage.
  • Inbound tour consulting experience is advantageous.
  • Building strong relationships with suppliers and co-workers.
  • Providing excellent customer service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
  • Professional communication skills via email and telephone.
  • Solid geographic knowledge of travel products across Southern Africa.
  • Strong numerical and figures orientation.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
