Our client is looking for a dynamic Payroll Administrator to join their team in Sandton. As a Payroll Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payrolls, while ensuring compliance with legislative, audit, and business requirements.

This position offers the opportunity to work remotely for three days a week, providing flexibility and work-life balance. Additionally, attractive remuneration and career growth prospects are available.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll accurately and within specified deadlines, ensuring compliance with legislative and business requirements.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including deductions, allowances, and earnings.
  • Reconcile and resolve discrepancies in payroll data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Generate payroll reports and distribute payslips to employees.
  • Handle payroll-related queries from employees and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Stay up to date with changes in payroll legislation, tax regulations, and other relevant industry developments.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless payroll processes and accurate reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of payroll-related reports for management and auditors.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of payroll systems and software.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll information and handle sensitive data securely.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and suggest solutions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Matric qualification (required).
  • Diploma in Payroll Administration or other relevant financial background (beneficial).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in payroll processing (required).
  • Experience in managing multiple payrolls or a large-scale payroll (required).
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems and software.
  • Familiarity with payroll processes for African countries (beneficial).
  • Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Understanding of South African tax regulations, and knowledge of other tax systems in African countries (beneficial).
  • Basic accounting and journal knowledge.
  • Proficient analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
