The mining company is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Operations Control Center (OCC) Coordinator to join the company’s dynamic team in the Northern Cape. As an OCC Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with safety legislation, coordinating remote communications effectively, troubleshooting and identifying operating problems, managing emergency procedures, coordinating communication during mine emergencies, monitoring equipment, maintaining accurate records of mining operations, conducting inter-shift communication, and reacting promptly to events in time-critical environments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with safety legislation.
  • Coordinate remote communications effectively.
  • Troubleshoot and identify operating problems.
  • Manage emergency procedures.
  • Coordinate communication during mine emergencies.
  • Monitor equipment to ensure machines are working efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of mining operations.
  • Conduct inter-shift communication.
  • React promptly to events in time-critical environments.

The candidate must be familiar with the following control systems:

  • Ampla
  • MIS (Management Information System)
  • SAP
  • Sperosens
  • X-time
  • Power BI
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12/N3 or relevant NQF Level 4 Qualification.
  • Valid permanent Blasting Certificate for Scheduled Mines or,
  • Artisan with an Engineering Trade Certificate and a recognized apprenticeship.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ mining/underground experience is essential.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in production reporting is essential.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, and Visio) is essential.
