Job Description

Our client is a leading firm operating in the financial services sector, located in Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal. They specialize in providing comprehensive audit and advisory services to a diverse range of clients.

Our client is looking for a dynamic and driven Junior Audit Manager to join their team. As a Junior Audit Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring effective and efficient audits, adhering to industry standards such as IFRS, IAS, ISA, and the Companies Act.

You will also be responsible for managing client relationships and delivering exceptional service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct audits in accordance with established standards (IFRS / IAS / ISA / Companies Act) to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Plan and execute audit engagements, including risk assessment, scoping, and resource allocation.
  • Review financial statements, accounting records, and other relevant documentation to identify potential issues and ensure accuracy.
  • Provide guidance and support to audit team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Manage client relationships, acting as the main point of contact and addressing any concerns or queries.
  • Prepare audit reports, highlighting findings, recommendations, and areas for improvement.
  • Stay updated with changes in accounting and auditing regulations, ensuring compliance and recommending necessary adjustments.
  • Utilize auditing software, such as CaseWare, to enhance audit efficiency and accuracy.
  • Conduct research on business best practices, applying relevant concepts to improve audit processes and deliver valuable insights to clients.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as tax and advisory, to provide integrated solutions to clients’ needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of audit procedures, work papers, and findings.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant registered with SAICA.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of post-article experience in auditing.
  • Knowledge of CaseWare software is advantageous.
  • Technologically savvy and reliable, with the ability to adapt to new tools and technologies.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of audit and accounting standards.
  • Proactive in researching and applying business best practices.
  • Excellent listening skills, with the ability to identify gaps in logic and ask insightful questions.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication, with developing negotiation skills.
  • Adaptable and open to new challenges and circumstances.
  • Demonstrates accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions effectively.
  • Executes effective and thorough application of all accounting and audit standards.

Benefits:

  • Salary: R250K/yr – R300K/yr, salary negotiable.
