Job Description

Our client, a boutique hotel located in Cape Town, is seeking a talented and experienced Hotel Manager to join their dynamic team. With a commitment to providing exceptional hospitality services and creating unforgettable guest experiences, our client is dedicated to upholding the highest standards in the industry. This esteemed boutique hotel is known for its attention to detail, guest focus philosophy, and innovative approach to hospitality.

The boutique hotel is looking for a Hotel Manager to assume full responsibility for the overall property operations in the absence of the General Manager. As a key ambassador of the hotel and its brands, you will play a vital role in maintaining and upholding the property’s standards and ensuring a streamlined and effective structure in line with hospitality trends.

The ideal candidate will possess sound experience in senior hospitality management positions, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences. This role offers a highly competitive remuneration package of R28,000 – R30,000 and an immediate start date.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key ambassador of the hotel and its brands, hosting site inspections, communicating with the market, and hosting journalists.
  • Uphold and maintain the property standards, ensuring they align with the developed brand guidelines.
  • Ensure the departmental management personnel of the property meet the required standards, fostering a streamlined and effective structure in line with hospitality trends.
  • Facilitate effective departmental meetings, ensuring accurate minutes are taken and follow-ups are completed.
  • Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings with all heads of departments (HODs) reporting directly.
  • Provide assistance in the event of a vacant management or HOD position, ensuring continuity of operations.
  • Contribute to achieving the best procurement agreements for the property, optimizing cost efficiencies.
  • Keep the property innovative in its guest experience, staying updated on competitor offerings and current trends in the hospitality industry.
  • Be readily available to handle all guest queries and complaints, addressing them in a pleasant and constructive manner.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of sound experience in senior hospitality management positions.
  • Sound knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Proven track record of achieving targets.
  • Strong product and market knowledge, including international trends.
  • Valid Code 08 driver’s license and own reliable transport essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail and hygiene principles.
  • Guest-focused philosophy.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), practising honest communication.
  • Excellent time management, self-discipline, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive with the ability to use initiative and creative flair when required.
  • Committed, loyal, adaptable, and flexible.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Strong people skills, tolerance, patience, and care.
  • Leadership skills with a passion for development and skills transfer.

Package on Offer:

  • Remuneration: R28,000 – R30,000.
