Our client is looking for a dynamic and experienced Food and Beverage/Service Department Manager to join their team. As a Food and Beverage/Service Department Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the operations of the department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the food and beverage/service department, including staff supervision, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service by maintaining high standards and resolving any customer concerns or complaints.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate operations and ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate stock replenishment.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize departmental performance and achieve financial targets.
  • Analyze financial data, including sales reports and expenses, to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Oversee staff scheduling and manage staffing levels to meet operational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain hygiene standards.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve the department’s offerings and service delivery.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork, motivation, and professional development among staff.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, preferably within the retail sector.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with staff and customers.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Excel, for data analysis and reporting purposes.
  • Energetic and proactive with a strong sense of initiative.
  • Strong financial acumen to monitor and manage departmental budgets and expenses.
  • Related qualifications in food and beverage management or a similar field would be ideal.

Salary: The salary for this position is approximately R55,000 per month, negotiable depending on experience.
