Job Description

Our client, a growing concern in the finance sector, is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Financial Manager to lead their finance department at their branch in Silverton, Gauteng, Tshwane (Pretoria).

With a focus on financial planning, budgeting, management, and performance measurement, our client offers an opportunity to contribute to the company’s financial success and growth.

The company is looking for a dynamic Financial Manager to join their team. As a Financial Manager, you will be responsible for defining financial requirements, budgeting, monitoring financial resources, producing financial reports, and managing various financial processes. Join our client’s team and play a vital role in driving the company’s financial performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan financial requirements aligned with mandated goals and objectives, translating them into specific financial commitments.
  • Provide a roadmap to support the budgeting process.
  • Forecast financial needs and allocate funds to specific accounts.
  • Monitor actual use of financial resources against the approved budget and identify variances.
  • Adjust the approved budget based on management directives or variances between planned and actual expenditures.
  • Report findings and actions taken to the appropriate authorities.
  • Comply with legal and statutory frameworks related to recording, classifying, monitoring, and reporting on financial resources.
  • Establish and maintain institution-specific policies, processes, procedures, and standards for financial resource management.
  • Produce financial reports and regular management reports.
  • Evaluate and analyze financial findings.
  • Manage debtors and creditors.
  • Reconcile monthly inventory records.
  • Complete and submit VAT to the South African Revenue Services (SARS).
  • Manage cash flow and prepare financial statements for year-end audit.
  • Handle human resources payroll, including wages and salaries, and SARS submissions such as UIF, PAYE, and SDL.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BCom degree in Finance or related field.
  • Proficiency in using Pastel software.
  • At least four years of experience as a Financial Manager in a small to medium enterprise.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluent in English and Afrikaans due to the client base.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • People management abilities.
