Job Description

Our client, a leader in the renewable energy industry, is spearheading a windfarm project in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), Eastern Cape province.

They are dedicated to driving the adoption of wind energy. As an industry frontrunner, our client offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to South Africa’s energy production landscape.

Our client is looking for a talented and motivated Electrical Construction Supervisor to play a crucial role in the successful execution of the windfarm project.

As the Electrical Construction Supervisor, you will oversee HSE compliance, manage electrical construction activities, provide QA/QC support, and facilitate effective communication with stakeholders. This role offers the chance to be at the forefront of the wind energy revolution in South Africa.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide active support to the HSE Manager, ensuring the enforcement of the HSE Plan on site.
  • Review and verify DSTIs, act as OHS, and guide contractors in compliance with the project’s EMPrs.
  • Monitor and control contractors’ adherence to the Project Schedule and milestone dates, collecting daily diaries to monitor progress.
  • Provide QA/QC support, ensuring correct design implementation, and support the EPC Engineer.
  • Interact with stakeholders and effectively communicate company values and objectives on-site.
  • Fulfill reporting obligations and manage interactions with various parties involved in the project.
  • Report directly to the Site Construction Manager on a daily or weekly basis.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical site or construction operations, with at least 2 years in the renewable energy sector.
  • BTech or BSc (Diploma minimum) in Electrical Engineering.
  • Thorough understanding of regulations and experience in managing multiple projects.
  • Proactive mindset, intercultural competence, and a passion for working on-site.
