Job Description

Our client is a luxury lodge located in Madikwe, North West. With a commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences, our client offers upscale accommodations and world-class hospitality services. Our client is looking for a dynamic and experienced Duty Manager to join our team at the luxury lodge. As a Duty Manager, you will play a crucial role in providing impeccable guest service and maintaining the highest standards of hospitality.

You will have the opportunity to showcase your leadership skills and contribute to the overall success of the lodge. We offer a competitive remuneration package, including single accommodation, meals while on duty, a 7.5% contribution to the provident fund, and a 6-week/2-week cycle.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure flawless, upscale, and professional guest service experiences, aiming to exceed guests’ expectations.
  • Meet, greet, and host guests, making them feel welcomed and ensuring a comfortable stay.
  • Inform guests about lodge facilities and offerings, providing accurate and detailed information.
  • Coordinate check-ins and check-outs efficiently, ensuring a smooth process for guests.
  • Oversee lodge employees, providing guidance, support, and motivation to maintain high-performance levels.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in the lodge, ensuring cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Coordinate room preparation, making sure that all rooms are ready for guests’ arrival.
  • Report and follow up on maintenance concerns promptly, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Control, manage, and administer stock through established systems and procedures.
  • Handle complaints as they arise, actively resolving issues and following up to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure guests have a pleasant experience throughout their stay, attending to their needs and anticipating unstated preferences.
  • Maintain open lines of communication between staff and guests, fostering positive relationships and addressing any concerns.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven work experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
  • Flair for communication, with the ability to resolve issues in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Understanding of lodge management best practices and relevant laws.
  • Hands-on experience with Hotel Management software (PMS).
  • Proficiency in English, with solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer service-driven, with outstanding communication and active listening skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
  • Leadership skills, along with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Flexibility to work flexible hours as required by the operational needs of the lodge.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and a professional presentation.
  • Resourcefulness and proactiveness in handling issues and challenges.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • A degree or diploma in hospitality is a plus.
