Job Summary:
Our client is looking for a Debtors Team Lead to join their dynamic team in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The Debtors Team Lead will play a crucial role in leading and managing a team within the debtor’s department, ensuring efficient billing, collections, and reconciliation processes. This role offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute significantly to the organization’s financial success. The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary range of R 25,000 – R 30,000 CTC per month, along with Funeral, Death, and Disability cover.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire the debtor’s team to achieve departmental goals.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely billing processes.
  • Manage the collections process efficiently, ensuring adherence to company policies.
  • Play a key role in managing and reconciling debtor’s accounts.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Assist in the preparation and generation of financial reports related to debtors.
  • Provide regular updates on departmental performance and key metrics.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all financial transactions.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on team outputs.
  • Undertake any additional responsibilities associated with the role of a Debtors Team Lead.
  • Collaborate with other departments as necessary to achieve overall company objectives

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a team leader in a debtors department, preferably in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Proficient in accounting software, preferably experience with QuickBooks.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced and high-pressure work environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
