Our client, a prominent player in the Imports & Exports industry, is seeking a highly skilled Customer Service Representative to join their dynamic team.

With a strong presence in Prospecton in Durban, our client provides comprehensive solutions and services in customs, forwarding, clearing, and shipping. As a respected industry leader, our client is committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences and fostering long-term partnerships.

Our client is looking for a Customer Service Representative with expertise in the Imports & Exports industry to join their team in Prospecton in Durban. As a Customer Service Representative, you will play a vital role in providing outstanding service to clients, ensuring seamless import and export operations.

If you possess the necessary experience in customer service, customs, forwarding, clearing, and shipping, along with proficiency in SAP, we encourage you to apply. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract position with the potential for further opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, and providing timely and accurate information.
  • Coordinate and oversee import and export processes, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and documentation requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as logistics, warehouse, and operations, to ensure smooth and efficient shipment handling.
  • Monitor shipment progress, tracking, and documentation, and provide regular updates to clients.
  • Assist in sales forecasting and reporting activities to support business planning and decision-making processes.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of customer interactions, transactions, and relevant information.
  • Proactively identify and address customer concerns, seeking opportunities to enhance the customer experience.
  • Resolve customer complaints and issues in a professional and timely manner, escalating when necessary.
  • Continuously update and expand knowledge of customs regulations, international trade policies, and industry trends.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, suggesting ideas to streamline operations and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and quality standards in all customer service activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of customer service experience in the Imports & Exports industry.
  • 3 years of experience in customs, forwarding, clearing, or shipping operations.
  • Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems for order processing and tracking.
  • Strong sales forecasting and reporting skills to support business planning.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and own vehicle for transportation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in managing documentation and data.
  • Knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
