Job Description

Our client, a reputable meat manufacturing plant based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, specializes in producing high-quality gourmet meats. With a strong presence in the FMCG industry, they are committed to delivering exceptional products to their customers.

Our client is looking for a skilled Costing Clerk with FMCG experience to join their dynamic team. This role requires strong attention to detail and proficiency in cost accounting principles.

As a Costing Clerk, you will be responsible for performing cost calculations on the products sold, gathering relevant data, and providing regular updates on goods sold and cost of goods sold.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform cost calculations on products sold using established methodologies.
  • Gather all necessary data required for accurate cost calculations.
  • Bill clients, primarily focusing on WW (Worldwide) clients.
  • Provide regular updates to clients regarding goods sold and cost of goods sold.
  • Assist with billing queries related to clients’ accounts.
  • Generate reports on cost information for the WW Account Manager, Finance, and Admin Manager.
  • Handle queries pertaining to cost, pricing, budgeting, and sales projections on clients’ accounts.
  • Maintain accurate records of costing-related activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cost accuracy and efficiency.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvement.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A basic tertiary qualification in cost accounting.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of proven experience in cost accounting.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes.
  • Must have own transport.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience with Pastel software would be advantageous.
