Our client is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Civil Construction Manager with specific expertise in landfill projects to join their team in Cape Town. As a Civil Construction Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing landfill construction projects, ensuring adherence to specifications and timelines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of landfill construction projects from initiation to completion.
  • Coordinate and oversee contractors, subcontractors, and construction teams.
  • Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor project progress, budget, and resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and safety standards.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and implement appropriate contingency plans.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to provide technical expertise and guidance.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies.
  • Prepare and present project reports, including progress updates and cost analysis.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in civil construction.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BEng/Honours/Masters) in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional registration (Pr Tech Eng/Pr CM) is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract management in civil construction.
  • Proven experience in landfill construction with geocomposite liners.
  • Strong knowledge of construction practices, methods, and materials.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations, codes, and industry standards.
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
