Our client is looking for a skilled and motivated Charge Hand to join their dynamic team in Isando, Benoni in Gauteng. As a Charge Hand, you will play a crucial role in organizing the day-to-day operations of the welding department.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day running and organization of the staff to ensure maximum productivity.
  • Conducting production planning to meet project deadlines and optimize workflow.
  • Scheduling jobs and allocating resources efficiently to maintain smooth operations.
  • Training and mentoring staff members to enhance their welding skills and knowledge.
  • Ensuring adherence to safety protocols and promoting a culture of workplace safety.
  • Monitoring and inspecting work quality to meet the company’s high standards.
  • Collaborating with other teams to coordinate project requirements effectively.
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting welding equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Keeping accurate records of work progress, materials used, and job completion.
  • Assisting with other tasks as assigned by the management team.

Desired Experience & Qualification:

  • Trade-tested Welder or Fitter with a proven track record in the welding industry.
  • Proficiency in arc welding techniques is essential.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills to effectively manage a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
