Our client is looking for an Audit Senior to join their team. As an Audit Senior, you will play a vital role in performing various assurance and non-assurance engagements, including external audits of financial statements, agreed-upon procedures, independent reviews, and compilations.

Additionally, you will be responsible for managing audit teams and SAICA trainees, providing guidance and training, and ensuring effective client liaison. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the growth and success of the firm.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform assurance and non-assurance engagements, such as external audits of financial statements, agreed-upon procedures, independent reviews, and compilations.
  • Handle administrative tasks, including timesheets, record of hours, and work-in-progress updates.
  • Travel to clients in and around the Durban and greater Durban area.
  • Assist with ad hoc tax and accounting tasks.
  • Supervise audit teams and provide guidance and support to SAICA trainees.
  • Train and mentor SAICA trainees, fostering their professional development.
  • Maintain effective client relationships and ensure timely and accurate communication.
  • Ensure compliance with auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage multiple engagements simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Caseware, including drafting AFS, preparing planning, executing and finalization working papers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting (must be a SAICA accredited degree) with a 3-year article term.
  • Completed SAICA articles.
  • Extensive experience with Caseware, including drafting AFS, preparing planning, executing, and finalization working papers.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in the full audit process, from planning to execution, finalization, and drafting of AFS.
  • Ability to handle complex entity audits (excluding listed companies and group financial statement audits).
  • Proven experience in managing audit teams and multiple engagements simultaneously.
  • Strong client management skills and the ability to meet firm and client expectations independently.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and own a vehicle for client visits.

Remuneration:
The salary range for this position is R15,000 to R20,000 per month, dependent on experience and qualification.
