Our client, a reputable international business in the B2B industrial services industry, is expanding its operations to South Africa. With a presence in Africa, USA, and the Netherlands, our client is known for its excellence and commitment to delivering high-quality services. As the company establishes its new offices in Sandton, they are seeking a Lease Accountant/Office Administrator to oversee the administration and accounting function. Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Lease Accountant/Office Administrator to join their dynamic team in Sandton, JHB. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the administration and accounting functions of the new offices. Your main focus will be lease accounting, asset registers, foreign currency accounting, and office administration.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage lease accounting processes, ensuring compliance with IFRS 16 standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date asset registers, tracking all leased assets.
  • Perform foreign currency accounting, including currency conversions and reconciliations.
  • Oversee the administration of the new offices, ensuring smooth operations and efficient workflows.
  • Handle office documentation, including contracts, agreements, and correspondence.
  • Coordinate office supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and functionality.
  • Support the onboarding process for new employees, including paperwork and orientation.
  • Assist with travel arrangements and logistics for team members.
  • Prepare financial reports and statements related to lease accounting and office expenses.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Maintain working knowledge of technical accounting systems, specifically MS Dynamics.
  • Utilize advanced MS Excel skills to analyze and interpret financial data.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in lease accounting (IFRS 16), asset registers, and foreign currency accounting as an Accountant or Senior Bookkeeper.
  • Experience working in an international, private equity-funded business, preferably in the B2B industrial services industry.
  • Valid passport for potential international travel.
  • Fluent in English, with additional proficiency in Portuguese, French, or Arabic considered a bonus.
  • Working knowledge of technical accounting systems, specifically MS Dynamics.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, including data analysis and financial modelling.
